COPE Visitor Center in Vientiane
Step into a powerful and emotional journey at COPE Visitor Center, where the stories of Laos’s past meet efforts to heal its present. This nonprofit center educates visitors about the impact of unexploded ordnance (UXO) left from past wars, and how COPE helps provide prosthetic limbs, mobility aids, and rehabilitation for UXO survivors and people with disabilities.
Through interactive exhibits, real-life documentaries, and survivor testimonies, visitors gain a deep understanding of the challenges faced by many Laotians. You can also try simulated activities to experience mobility limitations, or donate to support prosthetic production.
More than just a museum, COPE inspires empathy, action, and awareness. A visit here is often called “the most meaningful hour in Laos” — ideal for thoughtful travelers, students, and families with older children.
