Lantern Making in Hoi An

Laterns are the heart and soul of Hoi An, and in this workshop, you’ll step into a charming local studio to create one with your own hands. Guided by experienced artisans, you’ll shape the bamboo frame, choose your favorite silk color, stretch and glue the fabric, and carefully assemble your lantern step by step.

The 60–90 minute session is fun, relaxing, and suitable for all ages — from kids to couples to solo travelers. Along the way, you’ll learn about the meaning of lanterns in Vietnamese culture and local festivals. At the end, you’ll take home a foldable lantern as a special souvenir — a symbol of light, luck, and a deeper connection to Hoi An’s gentle charm.
