Royal Palace in Luang Prabang – Where History Meets Spiritual Grandeur
Step into the Royal Palace in Luang Prabang, an iconic symbol of Lao royalty built in 1904. Once home to King Sisavang Vong, it now serves as the National Museum, housing royal artifacts, traditional costumes, Buddha statues, and the revered Phra Bang Buddha.
Explore the ornate throne hall, admire colonial-Lao architecture, and stroll through serene lotus ponds and manicured gardens. Photography is not permitted inside, and respectful attire is required.
Entrance fee is 60,000 kip (~US $3.25) for foreigners and 10,000 kip for Lao visitors. The museum is open daily from 8 AM–11:30 AM and 1:30 PM–4 PM, with a lunch break in between.
Perfect for history enthusiasts, art lovers, and cultural explorers, this visit offers a glimpse into Laos’s royal past and spiritual identity.
