Morning – Explores the Heart of Hanoi

Your day begins with a guided visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, where you’ll learn about the life and legacy of Vietnam’s revolutionary leader. As you stroll through the tranquil complex, your guide will share stories of his role in the country’s independence movement.

Next, wander the peaceful grounds nearby to see two iconic landmarks: the One Pillar Pagoda, which rises from a lotus pond in elegant simplicity, and the Presidential Palace, an impressive colonial-era building nestled among lush gardens.

From there, your journey continues to the Temple of Literature, a thousand-year-old complex dedicated to Confucius and Vietnam’s first national university. Here, you can admire the ancient courtyards, shaded pathways, and beautifully preserved pavilions that once nurtured generations of scholars.

Afterward, enjoy a relaxing walk through the Old Quarter, a historic maze of 36 streets—each traditionally named after the goods once sold there, such as silver, bamboo, and paper. While wandering, you’ll experience the everyday rhythm of Hanoi life, with vendors, scooters, and shopkeepers creating a vibrant atmosphere around you.

Lunch is not included, so feel free to ask your guide for recommendations or explore the local eateries on your own. The afternoon is yours to relax or continue exploring at your own pace.

Evening – Hanoi by Night: Private Food Tour by Vintage Vespa

    Time: 06:00 – 10:00 PM | Duration: 4 hours

At 06:00 PM, your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. Your first stop? A cozy café near St. Joseph’s Cathedral, where you’ll sip a welcome drink and taste your first street snack of the night.

From there, hop on your vintage Vespa and ride to a local restaurant made famous when President Obama dined on Bun Cha here with Anthony Bourdain. It’s a must-try Hanoi dish and a great way to start your culinary adventure.

Next, cruise through the French Quarter and pause at the Hanoi Opera House for a photo stop and a brief history of this architectural gem.

The ride continues over the Long Bien Bridge, a century-old steel structure that spans the Red River. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it’s a symbol of resilience and history, and still serves Hanoi’s motorbikes and trains today.

Cross the ceramic mosaic road, pass Chuong Duong Bridge, and arrive at a small eatery to try Banh Xeo, or Vietnamese sizzling pancakes. Your guide will explain how this crispy dish is prepared and best enjoyed.

From there, you’ll explore hidden alleyways and local joints to sample creative versions of Pho like Pho Cuon and Pho Chien Phong, alongside other regional delights.

As the tour continues around West Lake, you’ll enjoy a romantic ride through Hanoi’s quieter side—perfect for taking in peaceful views and snapping night-time photos of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.

You’ll then make a fun stop at a train street café, where you can watch the train pass by just inches from your seat while enjoying a warm cup of egg coffee.

To end the night, you’ll visit a trendy local bar for a live acoustic or jazz performance. Whether you prefer to listen or take the mic yourself, it’s a fun and unforgettable way to experience the city’s nightlife.

After the tour, your Vespa driver will bring you back to your hotel for a good night’s rest.

To complete cultural immersion, enjoy a live traditional art performance at the Hoi An Performing Arts House.

A visit to Hoi An would not be complete without seeing the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, built more than 400 years ago to connect the Japanese and Chinese communities. Take time to admire the ornate carvings and symbolic art inside the structure.

As you stroll through the town’s lantern-lit lanes, your guide will take you to local handicraft shops and art galleries, where you can discover unique creations and meet talented artisans. The day begins with a hotel pickup, followed by a comfortable drive of approximately 1.5 hours to reach the Cu Chi district. Along the way, travelers can observe the gradual transition from urban bustle to peaceful rural scenery.

Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed with a short introductory session, including a documentary that provides background on how the tunnels were built and how local people survived under wartime conditions. This sets the context for a deeper understanding of the historical site.

The guided exploration then begins. The Cu Chi Tunnels reveal an intricate underground world consisting of narrow passageways, cleverly concealed trapdoors, and fully functioning spaces such as kitchens, storage rooms, command centers, and makeshift hospitals. The maze-like system was an essential stronghold for Vietnamese resistance forces during the war.

Special wartime food, cassava and tea, is served after the visit, offering a small glimpse into the daily life of guerrilla fighters. For those interested in a more immersive experience, a shooting range is available nearby, where visitors may test out historical firearms (optional, self-funded).

The return to Ho Chi Minh City takes place around midday. The afternoon remains unscheduled, providing flexibility for personal activities such as shopping, resting, or exploring more of the city’s attractions.

The excursion continues with a visit to a local handicraft family where you’ll see how coconut candy or woven goods are made by hand. At 8:30 AM, your guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and begin the day with a sobering visit to the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center, located about 15 kilometers southwest of the city. Known internationally through the film The Killing Fields, this former orchard became a mass execution site under the Khmer Rouge regime between 1975 and 1978. Today, a haunting memorial stupa made of glass and rising 17 stories houses over 8,000 human skulls, grim remnants of a tragic past.

Next, return to the city for a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, also known as S21 Prison. Once a high school, this facility was converted into a detention center by the Khmer Rouge and became the largest site of incarceration and torture during the regime. The museum now stands as a powerful reminder of Cambodia’s recent history and the resilience of its people.

If time allows, you may stop briefly at the Russian Market (Phsar Toul Tompoung), where you can browse a wide array of goods, from textiles and souvenirs to antiques and street food.

Around noon, continue your journey with a visit to the Royal Palace, the official residence of the King of Cambodia. This architectural complex features elegant buildings with glittering spires and manicured gardens, offering insight into the country’s royal traditions.

Afterward, explore the nearby National Museum, which houses one of the finest collections of Khmer art and artifacts in the world. Inside, you’ll find an impressive display of ancient sculpture, ceramics, bronzes, and traditional objects dating from Cambodia’s prehistoric era to its Angkorian and post-Angkorian periods.

Conclude your day with a visit to Wat Phnom, the iconic hilltop pagoda that gave Phnom Penh its name. According to legend, Lady Penh discovered sacred Buddha statues here in the 14th century, prompting the construction of the first temple. Today, locals come to this serene spot to pray for good fortune, stroll in the gardens, or simply enjoy the city’s view at sunset.

After the tour, your driver will return you to your hotel.

Spend the day discovering the ancient wonders of Angkor with a small group of fellow travelers.

Your journey begins at the Angkor Thom complex, where you’ll explore the awe-inspiring Bayon Temple, known for its many serene stone faces. Let’s continue to Ta Prohm, famously dubbed the “Tomb Raider Temple,” where massive tree roots entwine with centuries-old ruins in a breathtaking display of nature and history.

Around midday, you can take a break and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant within the Angkor Archaeological Park (meal at your own expense).

In the afternoon, prepare to be amazed by the sheer scale and detail of Angkor Wat, one of the largest religious monuments in the world. After exploring this iconic site, your final destination is Phnom Bakheng, a hilltop temple that offers a panoramic sunset view over the jungle and distant temples. Due to visitor limits at the top (300 people max), early arrival ensures a spot to witness this magical moment.

As the sun sets and your day of adventure concludes, return to town with unforgettable memories and tired but happy feet.

Drop off at your hotel around 06:30 PM. Dinner is on your own.

You’ll spend the day exploring one of Cambodia’s most sacred sites, Phnom Kulen, where spirituality, nature, and history meet.

Your journey begins with a scenic drive off the beaten path toward Kulen Mountain. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views of the countryside before arriving at Kulen Waterfall, surrounded by lush greenery. Take a refreshing dip in the cool waters, or simply relax and watch local families gather in this spiritual retreat.

Next, walk along the River of a Thousand Lingas, a sacred riverbed carved with ancient symbols of fertility and protection. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to receive a traditional blessing with holy water, a ritual deeply rooted in Cambodian culture.

Then, continue to the summit of the mountain where you’ll visit a hilltop pagoda and stand in awe before the Reclining Buddha, carved from a massive sandstone block. This revered figure offers a quiet, reflective moment amidst the vibrant natural surroundings.

We had a two week family trip in April 2024 to Vietnam and Cambodia. It was a magical holiday full of special memories and exciting experiences. I can’t speak highly enough about the service we had..

I stumbled onto Seni World travel while looking for a holiday in Vietnam. I sent a mail and was amazed at the prompt reply i got from one of their representatives. We were in constant contact on WhatsApp until we found the best package for us. Seni did all from booking hotels, arranging local flights to arranging our Visas. All tours and transport were arranged with absolutely no problems. If you ever want to see Vietnam, do make use of this Tour operator.
