Its timeless atmosphere makes it one of the most captivating places to explore in Laos. You’ll spend the night here, soaking in the unique rhythm of the town.
Note: Due to local regulations, only vehicles with a maximum of 16 seats are allowed to enter the Old Quarter.
Let’s begin the day with a guided visit to Wat Xieng Thong, Luang Prabang’s most iconic temple. Here, you’ll admire its elegant traditional architecture and the exquisite “Tree of Life” mosaic, carefully created from colored glass. The journey continues at the National Museum, once the Royal Palace, where a collection of royal artifacts showcases the rich cultural heritage of Laos.
Later, enjoy some free time wandering the charming streets of Luang Prabang. You might choose to explore artisan boutiques, sip coffee at a riverside café, or simply take in the town’s peaceful atmosphere.
In the afternoon, you’ll take a scenic drive to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfalls. You’ll have time to swim in the cool, turquoise pools or follow the forest trails for a leisurely nature walk.
After returning to town, you embarked on a serene cruise upstream along the Mekong River. The boat ride offers sweeping views of the countryside and makes stops at the sacred Pak Ou Caves, where thousands of Buddha images line the two limestone grottoes. You’ll also visit Ban Xanghai, a local village known for its traditional rice wine.
As night falls, you can explore Luang Prabang’s famous Night Market. This lively market is perfect for discovering handmade textiles, local crafts, and one-of-a-kind souvenirs. You return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay in Luang Prabang.
Begin your day with a truly special experience, join or observe the traditional alms-giving ceremony, a quiet and spiritual ritual unique to Laos. As lines of saffron-robed monks walk through the streets collecting offerings from locals, you’ll witness a centuries-old tradition that reflects the deep Buddhist roots of the country. This daily procession is a rare sight in the modern world and offers a glimpse into the heart of Lao culture.
Afterward, explore the lively Morning Market, where local vendors sell everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to aromatic spices and handmade snacks. Next, climb the steps of Mount Phousi to visit the golden stupa at its summit. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of Luang Prabang and the Mekong River, especially as the morning sun begins to light up the town below.
Return to your hotel for breakfast and a short rest before setting out on a scenic drive to Phonsavanh in Xieng Khouang Province. The journey takes around 6 to 7 hours and winds through dramatic mountain landscapes dotted with traditional villages. Along the way, we’ll pause at scenic viewpoints and stop in Hmong communities, offering you a chance to learn about the customs and everyday life of one of Laos’s most prominent ethnic groups.
A notable stop on the journey is a rusted Russian tank, a haunting relic from the secret war period, when Lao forces and CIA-backed groups clashed during the Vietnam War era. It serves as a powerful reminder of the region’s complex and often forgotten history.
Upon arriving in Xieng Khouang, you’ll check in at your hotel and enjoy a well-deserved rest. Overnight in Xieng Khouang.

This lively spot is filled with colorful stalls, where friendly vendors sell everything from fresh produce and herbs to traditional Lao snacks and household goods. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience everyday life in Xieng Khouang Province.
From there, continue to the Mulberries Shop & Workshop, a local initiative that supports silk farming and traditional weaving. During your visit, you’ll learn about the art of sericulture, from raising silkworms to hand-dyeing and weaving silk into beautiful textiles using age-old techniques.
The day’s main highlight awaits as you explore the enigmatic Plain of Jars, one of Laos’ most remarkable archaeological sites. Scattered across the rolling plains, these giant ancient stone jars, some weighing several tons, have sparked curiosity for generations. You’ll visit Sites 1, 2, and 3, each offering a unique setting and perspective on these mysterious relics. Though their purpose is still debated, standing among them is a powerful and haunting experience.
If time allows, your journey continues to Muang Khoun, the former royal capital of the region. There, you’ll see the remains of centuries-old Buddhist temples and have a chance to visit nearby villages home to the Hmong and Tai Dam ethnic groups. These visits offer a deeper look into Laos’ diverse cultural heritage and traditional ways of life.

Your cultural journey begins at Wat Phra Keo, one of the most beautiful and historically significant temples in the city. Once the home of the famous Emerald Buddha, the temple is now a museum that houses religious art and precious artifacts from across Laos. Continue your visit at Wat Sisaket, a temple known for its timeless elegance and rows upon rows of small Buddha statues tucked into every nook of its peaceful cloister.
Next, make your way to Pha That Luang, the golden stupa that serves as a symbol of Lao national pride and the country’s most important religious monument. From there, head to Patuxay Monument, often called the “Arc de Triomphe of Vientiane.” You can climb to the top of this imposing structure for panoramic views of the city stretching out in every direction.
In the afternoon, venture just outside the city to visit the fascinating Buddha Park, also known as Xieng Khuan. Here, more than 200 sculptures inspired by both Buddhist and Hindu mythology are scattered throughout a tranquil riverside meadow. Among the figures is a massive 40-meter-long reclining Buddha that draws visitors with its serene expression and monumental scale.
Before heading back to your hotel, stop at the COPE Visitor Centre, a meaningful and educational part of your day. This center tells the story of Laos’s continuing struggle with unexploded ordnance (UXO) and honors the efforts made to provide prosthetics, rehabilitation, and support for survivors. It’s a humbling and eye-opening experience that adds a deeper layer of understanding to your journey through Laos.

Your first stop is the Hue Imperial Citadel, the historic heart of the former Vietnamese capital during the Nguyen Dynasty (1802 – 1945). Inside the vast walled complex, you’ll explore ancient palaces, temples, and royal residences. Despite the damage caused by war, many of the structures are being carefully restored to reflect their original grandeur.
Next, visit the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda, a seven-story structure that has become a symbol of Hue and Vietnamese Buddhism. This sacred site also holds historical significance as it houses the car used by monk Thich Quang Duc during his powerful act of self-immolation in 1963, protesting the persecution of Buddhists under the South Vietnamese regime.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing your journey in the afternoon. You’ll visit the serene Minh Mang Tomb, known for its harmonious layout of pavilions, gardens, and lakes. After breakfast at the hotel, your group will set off for an emotional and educational visit to the Son My Memorial. Located in a quiet rural area, this site marks the tragic events of March 16, 1968, when 504 innocent villagers lost their lives during the My Lai Massacre — one of the darkest chapters of the American War in Vietnam.
At the heart of the memorial stands a striking white stone monument, honoring the memory of those who perished. As you walk through the grounds, you’ll see the preserved foundations of homes and shelters that once stood in the village. The original footpaths have been recreated as concrete walkways, featuring symbolic footprints that represent both the victims and the perpetrators of the tragedy.
Inside the on-site museum, you’ll find a powerful exhibit that includes a wall engraved with the names of all 504 victims. The museum also features a moving collection of photographs, historical documents, military reports, and firsthand accounts from both soldiers and survivors, all offering a sobering insight into the horrors of war and the resilience of the human spirit.
After this deeply reflective experience, the group will return to Hoi An, where the rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax or explore at your leisure.
In the evening, enjoy a group dinner at a local restaurant before heading back to your hotel for the night. Overnight in Hoi An.
After breakfast and checking out of your hotel, begin your journey to Da Nang for a fascinating morning of exploration.
Your first stop is the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills named after the five elements. You’ll explore mysterious cave pagodas nestled within Mt. Thuy—the only mountain open to tourists, where ancient Buddhist and Hindu shrines are tucked into dramatic limestone caverns. At the base of the mountain, visit a traditional stone carving village where skilled artisans have passed down their craft through generations. Watch as intricate statues and sculptures come to life from solid stone.
Next, head to the acclaimed Cham Museum, home to the world’s finest collection of Cham sculptures. The museum offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Cham people, who once ruled central Vietnam.

Enjoy a relaxing evening and overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Begin your day with a journey to the historic Cu Chi Tunnels, departing from your hotel and traveling through the peaceful countryside that once served as a Viet Cong stronghold.
Upon arrival, watch a brief introductory video to understand what daily life was like for the soldiers who lived and fought underground during the war. You’ll then meet a local war veteran, who will guide you through parts of the extensive tunnel system and share firsthand stories of life during wartime. These tunnels weren’t just hideouts; they served as living quarters, hospitals, and supply routes for thousands of guerrilla fighters. Many perished here from disease and hardship, while others were even born or married underground. Today, the tunnels stand as a powerful symbol of the Vietnamese people’s resilience.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City around noon and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, begin your city exploration at the historic Reunification Palace, formerly the Presidential Palace, which played a crucial role in the fall of Saigon and the reunification of Vietnam. From there, enjoy a short stroll along Dong Khoi Street to admire the elegant façade of the Saigon Opera House. Dinner is at your own expense. Enjoy a relaxing overnight stay at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.
This morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and begin a scenic journey through vast stretches of rice paddies and vibrant roadside life as you make your way to the Mekong Delta, one of the world’s largest deltas and Vietnam’s agricultural heartland.
Upon arrival in My Tho City, board a motorboat and cruise along the maze of canals that define this lush region. You’ll catch a close-up glimpse of daily life on the waterways and the natural beauty of the surrounding islands. Your first stop is Thoi Son Island, where you’ll be treated to a live performance of Southern traditional music by local artists.
Next, switch to a paddle boat to explore narrow, shaded canals and visit local households that produce coconut candy and rice wine using age-old techniques. Back on a motorized boat, continue to another island where you’ll visit a bee farm, sip tea sweetened with fresh honey, and enjoy a tasting of tropical fruits.
Before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City, stop at Vinh Trang Pagoda, a striking Buddhist temple built in 1850. Its unique blend of Vietnamese, Roman, Chinese, and Cambodian architecture, highlighted by its ornate facade, makes it one of the region’s most impressive spiritual sites.
Return to the city in the late afternoon. Overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Leave behind the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City as you journey through the scenic landscapes of the Mekong Delta, heading toward Chau Thanh District in Tien Giang Province.
Upon arrival, your guide will lead you through Dong Tam Snake Farm, Vietnam’s foremost center for snake research, breeding, and antivenom production. As you explore the facility, you’ll encounter a wide range of snake species, from docile types to some of Southeast Asia’s most venomous.
Learn how experts extract venom for life-saving medicine, and understand the farm’s vital role in scientific advancement and public health. The site also features a small zoo with crocodiles, turtles, and native wildlife. A peaceful walk through its botanical gardens introduces you to traditional herbal remedies still used today.
After the tour, relax on your return trip to Ho Chi Minh City, enriched with insight into Vietnam’s efforts in conservation and medical science.
After breakfast, you’ll have the day free to explore Ho Chi Minh City at your own pace. Whether you’re interested in history, shopping, food, or culture, there’s something here for everyone.
