After breakfast, the day is dedicated to exploring Bangkok’s most iconic cultural sites.
The visit to the Grand Palace reveals the city’s royal heritage through its magnificent architecture and historical importance dating back to 1782. Within the complex, you will also visit Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), home to the revered Emerald Buddha, also known as Phra Kaeo Morakot, a sacred 66-centimeter jade statue whose seasonal golden robes are ceremonially changed by the King of Thailand three times each year.
Continue to Wat Pho, home to the famous gold-covered Reclining Buddha and widely recognized as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage. The temple’s calm atmosphere and rich cultural heritage provide a relaxing contrast to the busy city outside.
Following the guided visits, the afternoon is left free, allowing time to relax, explore nearby areas, or enjoy Bangkok at your own pace.
Overnight in Bangkok.
After breakfast, depart for Ayutthaya, the former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, located just north of Bangkok.
Upon arrival, explore Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its impressive temple ruins and rich history. Spanning 289 hectares with more than 95 historical monuments, the ancient city features remarkable temples, royal palaces, and iconic prangs dating from the 14th to 18th centuries, reflecting the prosperity of the former Ayutthaya Kingdom.
Highlights include Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Chaiwatthanaram, Wat Ratchaburana, Wat Lokayasutha, and Wihan Phra Mongkhon Bophit. The peaceful and open setting provides a striking contrast to the busy streets of Bangkok.
As you move through the ruins, the scale and detail of the temples provide insight into Thailand’s rich past. Lunch is served during the excursion, allowing time to relax before continuing the visit.
